Caitlin and Anthony’s Wedding

Most always when anyone talks about love it comes off cliche, but there was something so genuine about that word when it came to Caitlin and Anthony.

Most always when anyone talks about love it comes off cliche, but there was something so genuine about that word when it came to Caitlin and Anthony.
Tom and I, met them exactly a year from their wedding day at North Star Orchards for their engagement session. We spent the evening walking through the rows of apple trees and getting to know them, it was so easy to see that they adored each other. We anticipated their wedding day, remembering how hilarious and sweet they were. Exactly a year later, it was even more obvious that their love is stronger than before. It can be so easy to get caught up in the crazy energy that surrounds a wedding day, so it is always a beautiful thing to have a reminder of what that day is really all about, and during that crazy wedding morning rush, Anthony said something that stuck with me. There was about an hour till the ceremony and the groomsmen were all gathered around outside St. Mary’s Church in Clinton. As they all talked between each other about the sun shining above, Anthony took a break from pacing and proudly remarked, “It’s a perfect day to marry a perfect girl!” All those nerves seemed to leave him for a second when he said that, he was so confident and sincere.

It really was undeniable that it was the perfect fall day, the trees were full of color and it was sunny and warm. When Caitlin and her girls arrived in “Da Bus” ( the actual name of the bus), the church filled with family and friends, the girls created a human shield as Caitlin ran up the steps of the church and slipped into the foyer. They kept her hidden till the music changed, then they all stepped into line. Caitlin wrapped her arm around her father’s, looked at him and smiled. Peaking through the glass, you could see Anthony’s smile all the way from the back of the church, he was beaming! The ceremony was beautiful. During the sermon the priest spoke about love, but it was so compelling and personal that as I glanced around the room I saw couples smile at each other and squeeze each other’s hands. Weddings are an amazing way to witness love, it’s almost impossible not to see it everywhere.

During the portrait session, we had just as much fun as you can imagine! We hopped on “Da Bus” and shot at different spots around Hamilton College, tossing leaves and cracking up. Then we took a pit stop at the Village Tavern in Clinton where they were first introduced to each other. After sharing some stories and laughs, we headed over to the Radisson in Utica for the reception.

The hall was decorated beautifully, floral centerpieces surrounded with candles, Sweetheart table adorned with greenery, a huge popcorn bar (with every kind you can imagine), and a heartfelt memorial table. The food was so great, just thinking about it now can make us hungry, and the guests were so much fun! The dance floor was not empty once that night, there was even a dance train that traveled all around the entire length of the room- (and included almost everyone!) It was a wedding for the books and we were so happy to be able to be a part of it!
Congratulations Caitlin and Anthony! Thank you for sharing your day with us!
