As everyone knows, lately all this weather has called for (and done) is rain, rain, and more rain. That, of course, was the case for Hollie and AJ’s wedding and as if that wasn’t stressful enough, they were also dealing with a power outage with the town working on lines down the road from the venue. They say the way that people handle stress says a lot about them and is a reflection on how they will face hard times in the future, well, Hollie and AJ handled it like champions! Staying as cool, calm and collected as possible the two made the best of it as they used a generator to finish up curling hair and cueing up music. AJ happily greeted guests while it started to sprinkle and the power to the barn was still down, he kept a smile on his face and his only concern was wanting to make sure Hollie was okay and not worried. But alas, the rain halted, the power came back on and that was their cue to start the ceremony!
Outside by the pond, the guests filled up every seat and with standing room only, all eyes were on Hollie as she made her way down the aisle to meet AJ. They added a special twist to their ceremony by having their pup bring forward the rings for them and everyone let out a collective “awe”.
After the ceremony, the newlyweds were greeted with lots of hugs and kisses, (some from the pup as well.) Then the wedding party all had us laughing during the portrait session. When we finished up the wedding party photos and then let them go join the cocktail hour, Hollie and AJ took some time to share vows they had written for each other privately. We thought it was a beautiful and special moment as they expressed their love for one another and had some time to reflect on the wedding day.
Moving on from all that mushy stuff that we love, we headed down to the barn where the party was already underway! Food stations were set up for guest to peruse, along with a massive dessert table, beautiful decor and (fully functioning power *wink, wink*) everything was perfect! It was fun to watch as the space on the dance floor became smaller and smaller as the night went on, and it was clear to see that all the guests were having an amazing time, did we mention bar-top dancing and splits? What a wild and fun day it was!
