In the weeks leading up the Ashley and Peters wedding, the forecast was calling for 100% chance of rain, so you better believe we were doing the rain dance every night. No matter how much we wished for sunshine it just seemed that the weather was looking worse every day. Then the morning of the wedding, we packed up our umbrellas fully prepared for a rainy day. To our surprise on our drive in, the sun started to poke out from behind grey clouds and we were thrilled that Ashley and Peter might get lucky with the weather! Lucky, is what they were, because not only did the rain avoid us, (except for a few small dramatic sprinkles during the vows) but the clouds made for a beautiful backdrop!
Ashley and Peter’s wedding was held at the stunning Bristol Harbour Lodge overlooking Canandaigua Lake. They shared their first look under a tree full of blossoms, and from then on that point, Ashley and Peter never left each other’s side the whole night. These two were adorably glued to one another and it was sweet to see them beaming from ear to ear when they looked into each other’s eyes.
Their wedding was chocked full of intimate and personal touches. With around 75 guests or so, it made every element of the day that much more special, giving the couple time to spend with all of their guests. For some of the guests, it was their first time meeting one another, but you would have never guessed it. Everyone was mingling and enjoying each others company. Peter’s father even mentioned in his toast what a wonderful group of friends Ashley and Peter had and how he wished they would all stay at the venue together forever. Ashley even had part of her mother’s wedding dress sewn into her veil and had a double dose of meaning, as she and Peter were married by the same Preist who married her parents. It’s special touches like those that we deeply love to hear about and see on a wedding day.
Their ceremony on the lawn overlooking the lake was a sight to be seen, it was truly breathtaking and as storm clouds rolled in below and raindrops created a dazzling sheen on lake Canandaigua. The sun shined on Ashley and Peter and rain clouds quickly blew over to dramatically grace them with a kiss of rain. It was something out of a movie. Following the ceremony were the dances, beautiful and full of tears. It’s hard to believe if there were any dry eyes in the room, including ours. Then toasts that really further proved just how much Ashley and Peter are loved by their friends and family was the perfect way to kick off a night of amazing food, music, and conversation.
Ashley and Peter, you two are the perfect pair, we couldn’t be happier for you, congratulations!
