Courtney and Dave’s wedding was all about the moments. From morning till night their wedding day was filled with exchanges between families that made us cry, friends that made us laugh and everything in between. Those moments long after the day is done, are the memories that will last.
Both Courtney and Dave prepared for their morning with their wedding party at a hotel where both their rooms were on the same floor. Keep in mind they were on the far end of the hallway from one another, but just standing in the middle of both rooms hear the difference of party music for the bride and groom. DJ Khaled was bumping from the groom’s room and soft and gentle country music rolled out of the brides’ room. Yes, they had varying styles of music to get pumped up to but they do say opposites attract right?
During the morning rush -that every wedding has- Courtney stepped into her dress with the help of her mom, sister and best friend, all while the sweet flower girl Chloe looked on in awe of the beautiful bride! After everyone was dressed and ready to head off to the ceremony an awesome moment was shared between Courtney and her mom. A small spot had appeared on Courtneys mom’s dress and when she asked her what it was her mom replied “tears” as her voice cracked and her eyes filled with more tears.
The Durhamville Baptist Church is where Courtney’s dad is a Pastor and he shared an even more special part in their day because he not only got to walk his daughter down the aisle, but he got to officiate her and Dave’s marriage! The small church had every pew full and the ceremony was intimate and full of music and sweet exchanges between Courtney and Dave, after the two were officially husband and wife everyone was excited to head to the venue where more good times were waiting!
Delta Lake Inn is such a beautiful backdrop for a venue, overlooking the dam and now that summer is winding down the sunsets seem even more special. Courtney and Dave crushed portrait session time with us because of their naturally radiating smiles and energy. Boats cruised by during cocktail hour as everyone enjoyed drinks from the tiki bar waiting to welcome the bride and groom back with warm hugs!
More moments ensued during the reception where a very special family poem, written by Dave’s grandfather was recited by a cousin. Every wedding in the family gets their own special poem, and the sweet sentiment had tears in almost everyone’s eyes! Between that, the other toasts celebrating the newlyweds and the parent dances, I had to wipe my eyes more times than once. When I watched as Dave’s mother ended her dance with her son by joining his hands with Courtney and wrapping them both up in a hug and kiss made my love for my job hit an all-time high!
Now picture a blowout, crazy, wild full-on party, and that sums up Courtney and Dave’s reception. The dance floor was so full that I had honestly worried that the patrons of the restaurant downstairs might question if picture frames and lights might start falling from the walls and ceiling! Bringing two families together and two lives becoming entwined is absolutely worthy of a party that epic though! These are some reception photos you guys won’t want to miss, that’s for sure! One other thing that is a definite, if you want to party…like really party, just invite Courtney and Dave along!
A huge congratulations to Courtney and Dave, thank you guys for sharing your wedding day with us and letting us be a part of the amazing memories you made!
