Sarah and Ryan’s wedding this past weekend was a whirlwind of emotions, from happy tears in the morning to first pumping cheers on the dance floor late into the evening, Tom and I were honored to be able to document such a special day for not only our sweet couple, but their loving families as well!
We spent a wonderful wedding day at the John Joseph Inn where we had unimaginable backdrops for photos in every direction! During the morning I shared time with Sarah and her bridesmaids as they were preparing for the day, I asked how she had found such a beautiful place, and she replied that it was always her dream as a little girl to get married here! How wonderful it was to see that that dream was made true for Sarah, and even more special that she was able to share it with Ryan and their families. It was clear to see from the very start of the morning that their day was built on strong family bonds, and to have Ryan’s family from Long Island (where Sarah and Ryan now live together with their pup) come up and share memories where Sarah was raised is heartwarming! Plus, I heard some of Ryan’s family had even got to spend some time chasing waterfalls in the amazing gorges in the area, win-win! Before the big events of the day began, there were a lot of gifts to be exchanged, and with that came the tears, it is always hard for me to not cry with others, but seeing the joy that it brought everyone to have a token of their love and appreciation made it even the more special. Ryan’s mother especially had me choking up, and I loved watching as she let her emotions free on a day so significant, it was genuine and powerful and absolutely wonderful! Whenever people try to hold back tears I just want to shout to from the rooftop, *CRY*! We have emotions for a reason, feel them, let them happen, tissues were invented for times like these and makeup can be fixed!
The day ran like a well-oiled machine, with a gorgeous ceremony in the garden – rain clouds jusssssst skimming by. Cocktail hour just a few short steps away on the lawns of an apple orchard, where children chased chickens and adults chased drinks. Then steps from there the Reception tent was prepared for dinner and dancing to wrap up the night! I even got to “get my dance on” with Sarah’s sweet grandmother who took my hand and told me we were doing a great job and those words were the perfect reminder of what an amazing “job” we have! Tom and I live in a constant state of gratitude to be able to live our lives sharing such special memories with so many kind-hearted people. So, thank you, Sarah and Ryan, for giving us that opportunity, and we wish you two many happy years!
