Can you believe this was our last wedding of the year? Tom and I feel blessed to have shared in so many incredible weddings, we’ve met the kindest people and have memories to cherish for a lifetime. Molly and Alex’s Wedding was the cherry on top! This was a true Syracuse wedding through and through and although Molly and Alex are from Connecticut and could have chosen anywhere to get tie the knot, we were thrilled they came back to their alma mater because we could NOT have imagined our wedding season without them! From morning till night Molly and Alex were without a doubt the happiest people in the world. Radiating with love for each other, joy from being surrounded by their family and friends, and pride for the city where they fell in love!
Hotel Syracuse (of course) was where Tom and I arrived at capture all the morning hustle and bustle! The bridal suite was a maze of rooms that were all filled with a different and exciting step of the day, hair, makeup, dress steaming, and right away I was greeted with a warm hospitality from the bridesmaids. While Molly and her flower girls giggled over lipgloss and sparkles, Alex and his team of groomsmen were doing what most guys dream of doing on their wedding morning, watching football! It cracked me up when Tom told me that when he arrived all the guys asked, “What do we do now?” and Tom replied, “Whatever you’d do without me here!” Then they just kicked back and watched football. I mean, with a day as busy as a wedding, if you can find time to watch the game, you’ve figured it out! When it was almost time for Molly and Alex to share their first look, Molly had a really special first look with her parents. My heart almost burst, what a seriously special moment it was!
The day became even more “real” when Molly tapped Alex on the shoulder outside of Hendricks Chapel. It was simply pure joy on their faces during their first look. I didn’t think I could love this couple any more than I did, but how genuinely happy and in love they were sharing that special moment made me swoon. During their portrait session, Molly and Alex reminisced about their time spent on campus, and we reminisced last year when they were our private tour guides and showed us just how incredible SU is! Although it wasn’t snowing like it was the day of their engagement session it was still cold, even in the bitter wind, Molly, nor the rest of the wedding party complained once, they were absolute champs and we applaud them! The sun was setting fast, and it was almost time for the big moment, but before Molly and Alex could say “I do” they HAD to dome stomp! Their wedding party joined them, and even if it was a “The Office” moment recreation on accident it was one of our favorite images of the day!
If you’ve never been inside of Hendricks Chapel, its a must! Monumental, and grand, the building could have held hundreds, of people, but instead was hosting a small gathering of under a hundred. You might think it may have felt empty, but I’ve never felt a room so full before. Every single person in that room had love for Molly and Alex and no matter the size of the hall, it was a very intimate ceremony. Between the perfect timing of the piano with Molly walking down the aisle, to the beautiful song that was sung during the ceremony as the rain hit the windows. Tom and I both had literal chills from how incredible it was!
What could make this Cuse’ wedding even more awesome? Dinosaur Barbeque! What’s that you ask? Make it more epic!? How about inviting Otto the orange, Syracuse’s Mascot!? Yep, you heard that right, Otto made a special appearance and shared tons of hugs and high fives! We loved all the personal touches Molly and Alex made part of their wedding, like that fact that dinosaur barbeque was the place where they shared their first valentines day and that the wedding favors were personalized m&m’s- a gift that Alex gave Molly on that valentines day! It was an incredible night, between the amazing bbq buffet, to the company of the guests, and ending the night with John Denver (one of our favorite’s) it couldn’t get any better than that!
Molly and Alex, we can’t thank you enough for letting us be a part of your day! It was so awesome getting to know you both, you guys are so wonderful, congratulations!
