The wedding industry pushes everything to the extreme. They tell you that you HAVE to have this, that, and the other thing, or else your wedding won’t be perfect. While options can nice, the only people that truly need to be happy are the two who are coming together in marriage. If you’re marrying your best friend, well then, it cant get better than that, can it? What makes your wedding special is who you are sharing it with. Miranda and Ben’s wedding was shared with their closest family and friends and during a moment that I was lucky enough to share with them during photos, Ben remarked that this was the first time is a very long time that all his family was in the same room together and how special it was to him. THAT’S what matters. Their wedding left me feeling so happy, everyone in the room was beaming with pride and love for the newlyweds and it showed. The smiling faces and hugs and kisses shared with everyone made me want to be a part of this wonderful family!
The morning of Miranda and bens wedding was cold…and I mean cold! But the excitement of what was to come was keeping everyone’s hearts warm! Plus, it helped that there was a blazing fire in the fireplace. As Miranda prepared to put on her wedding gown, you could hear as guests filed inside to warm up by the hearth. Ben and the groomsmen outside working hard to put together the arbor that he would soon share his vows with Miranda under. Wood that was taken from his parents family farm was crafted into an incredible structure that was later adorned with colored blooms. When it came the time, guests scurried to their seats and wrapped up in blankets. Beneath the arbor, beside the castle is where Ben saw his bride for the first time, where Miranda took her last steps as a Graf and became a Wivell. In the morning she jokes with Ben’s sister, your family has taken another one!
That seemed to me to be one of the highlights of their wedding was the love of family, Graf side or Wivell side, these families really became one that day! The reception was intimate and full of laughter! Children filled the dance floor, twirling and spinning in circles. Older relative sharing stories and memories, and everyone making new ones. It was a wedding full of reflections from the past and hopes and dreams for the future. Lunch was served family style, of course! The cake was cut and pies were served. Ben and Miranda even made some time for a newlywed “shoe game” that had the entire room roaring with laughter! Their day was just a “snuggle up with your loved ones and squeeze them tight” kind of a wedding, and those are my favorite!
Thank you, Miranda and Ben, what an honor it was to capture your wedding! Wishing you lots of kisses by the campfire and smooches from your fur baby! Congratulations!
