An unusual but valid way of determining how incredible a wedding day is can be based solely on if the photographer’s pants are split from getting ALL the angles! You’re probably thinking, wow Lexi, that’s a really strange way to start a blog, Tom couldn’t have actually ripped his pants…right?! Well he did, and it was all for the art of the photo, and because Kristina and David’s wedding could NOT have been more beautiful if they tried! Their adventurous spirit and willingness to wander near and far for photos led to some incredible (and incredibly hilarious) moments that we know we will never forget, and I hope they never let Tom live down!
Kristina and David’s wedding was a hike out to brand new wedding territory for us, but if you know us, you know we LOVE to travel, and what’s even better than that is traveling in fall in upstate New York! Our ride to Bristol Harbor was scenic and breathtaking with rolling hills and vivid fall colors. Every turn in the road our anticipation grew, we couldn’t wait to finally get to their gorgeous venue and stare in awe at the view of Canandaigua Lake! We cruised up a huge mountain to the peak where Kristina and David were preparing for the big day! They had rented out massive cabins and every corner was occupied by a bright-eyed bridesmaids or groomsmen! Tom and I were really excited to see some familiar faces that day as we bounced between cabins, capturing fun moments and pretty details.
The Ceremony was held at Golisano Academic Center Chapel at Kristina’s former college, Nazareth! The Chapel was gorgeous, and as Kristina made her way down the aisle with her dad, she dropped jaws! Not only are Kristina and David two of the sweetest people, but they make one beautiful pair! Adding to the heart of the ceremony was Kristina’s Uncle who was the officiant, adding some very sweet touches that gave the ceremony that extra personal flair! The most epic ceremony exit we’ve ever had goes to David and Kristina with their use of extreme bubbles! There isn’t really anything that made it “extreme” per say, but boy did their guests know how to make some darn great bubbles!
The fact that Naz was home for Kristina for some years made for an awesome portrait session! They showed us some beautiful spots, including the Zen Garden, which had interesting architectural details that were unique and fun to have Kristina and David work with! By the time we got back to Bristol Harbor the sun was getting closer to setting and guests were enjoying cocktail hour on the back patio overlooking the lake and golden painted valley! It was pretty special that all of Kristina’s family and friends got to experience that gorgeous autumn sunset together, I couldn’t think of a perfect way to end the night, but surprise surprise, the night was still young!
Following the golden sunset, introductions kicked off the party and in addition to the tasty dinner, guests enjoyed a props and polaroid camera booth, DJ singing battles, the biggest conga time you’ve ever seen! We even got to see an outfit change from Kristina, she transformed into a golden goddess and her dazzling gown gave her some more room to groove, and probably lessened her worry about spilling food when it came time for the late night garbage plates they served! Yes, you heard that right, they served up some classic Rochester garbage plates! Then if that wasn’t enough Kristina and David sent everyone home with to-go bags filled with snacks and other necessities, could they GET any more thoughtful?
David and Kristina! It’s been a blast getting to know you! Your light-hearted, easygoing, and adventurous attitudes made every moment with you an absolute blast! Wishing you the happiest years ahead!
