Right from the start, we loved Lauren and Shawn, with their charisma and zest, it was easy to see why! We’re pretty sure not liking them is totally impossible, and based on their wedding, we are going to go ahead and say that’s true. Hundreds of guests came out to celebrate, and together relentless worked to set the bar for the most fun wedding reception of all time. If there was a way to shrink down and carry this reception around with us for whenever we need to just get crazy and dance, we would…and we’d patent it too!
So let’s back up to the beginning of the morning, way before “I do’s”. Most of the time Tom and I split up in the morning, but hooray for us, this time we got to work together capturing Lauren’s pre-wedding prep! With a room full of beautiful girls, makeup, mimosas, and the real housewives, you better believe Tom felt right at home! All kidding aside, we had so much fun, and really loved being able to share all of those wedding jitters with Lauren and her bridesmaids!
The only thing that would have made the morning better… Shawn of course, but he was at Traditions at The Links, where we headed as soon as the last of the lipstick was applied. When we arrived, we were blown away at the gorgeous reception room, and ceremony space. Combine the already natural beauty of the venue plus the vintage and romantic details throughout, and you’ve got yourself one heck of a setting to get married! When we did see Shawn he greeted us with gifts! He and Lauren picked out the cutest coffee mugs, that look just like camera lenses, how sweet is that?! You could just see how excited they both were that their day was here!
Beneath the trellis in front of a beautiful pond is where Lauren and Shawn shared their vows, We were pretty nervous about the weather, as we all know this summer has been all over the place, but for Lauren and Shawn’s day, you could not have wished for better weather! It was such a beautiful ceremony, and after all the sweet exchanges, and the big kiss, we hopped into a stretch limo sized golf cart and cruised around the course for the portrait session! Being able to share some alone time with Lauren and Shawn was so fun, and really sweet to be able to capture such a special time!
We were all excited to get back to the reception, where everyone was waiting to kick off their shoes and party! So many fun things from this reception, everywhere I turned there was something new and exciting. The unique spin they put on dinner, we LOVED! Different stations of food were spread around the ballroom, from building your own pasta dinner, to mashed potatoes in a martini glass, and the best part, they all tasted so good you never wanted to stop! Then when it came time for the DJ to crank it up, everyone flooded the dance floor, the energy was incredible! We loved seeing Shawn getting “iced” during the garter toss, and the crazy money passing and dancing on chairs, all of these things made for a crazy fun time!
Congratulations Lauren and Shawn, you had an incredible day! Wishing you the very best for the years to come!
