From the moment we met Sarah and Vinny we loved them. They radiate happiness and are an absolute joy to be around, they had us smiling and laughing during every meeting and shoot. Their wedding day was so full of love, and we are so excited to share their day!
The morning of their wedding the weather was very out of place for a January in upstate New York. The sun was out and the sky was blue. Sarah and her bridesmaids began the day at her family home where I was welcomed with a warm hug, and introductions. Tom spent his morning with Vinny and his groomsmen at their house, where the “man cave” was the place to be. While the girls sipped Bloody Marys and Mimosas, the guys were shooting pool. When the girls started getting their gowns on and gathering their bouquets, I knew that I was going to love everything about the style of the day. The bridesmaids gowns were navy blue and their flowers were white with the cutest “snow” covered pine cones in them! The guys looked just as snazzy in their suits and bowties. Obviously Sarah looked STUNNING in her classic but modern styled gown with detailed back. So when it came time to hop on board the party bus, everyone was looking good and ready to go!
Sarah and Vinny’s ceremony took place at the Hamilton College chapel (where Sarah went to college). Hamilton College is one of our favorite places to shoot photos, the beautiful stonework and architecture is truly picturesque. We were both thrilled to finally be able to photograph inside the beautiful chapel that we have always admired. Let me tell you, the interior was just as gorgeous as the exterior. The crisp, clean white walls, combined with the countless number of windows letting in soft natural light was SO beautiful, and really had this calming effect. (which I’m sure helped Sarah and Vinny with their nerves) When Sarah made her way down the aisle, Vinny’s face was smiling through his mouth and his eyes. The ceremony was traditional, plus had some jokes from the officiant to break the ice. The couple’s first kiss as a married couple could have set off fireworks.
Sarah and Vinny’s portrait session was a quick step out the door and a short walk around the campus. Sarah pointed out her old dorm buildings, and everyone shared laughs and jokes while trying to keep warm in their fur shawls and suit jackets.
The reception took place at Dibbles Inn, and the entire building was reserved for Sarah and Vinny’s day! We loved that almost every room was filled with guests enjoying time together and celebrating the happy couple! The cocktail hour had massive tables filled to the the edges with fruits and veggies, along with a fountain of champagne, and even live music. The main reception was held in the silver garden room. Large white drapery and blue uplighting, along with baby’s breath centerpieces, and candles transformed the room beautifully. Dinner was served family style, and was so delicious. Then the rest of the night was party, party, party! Sarah and Vinny, their friends, and their family, seriously know how to have a good time!
Congratulations Sarah and Vinny! We were so happy that you chose to share your beautiful day with us and we wish you a long and happy marriage!
