You know all those wedding’s you “oogle” over as you’re hitting “add pin” to your “Dream Wedding” Board, yeah, us too, and our first wedding of 2017 was one of those! Sara and Josh’s dreamy January wedding had us in the clouds the whole day! From start to finish we were in awe of how absolutely “pinterest” perfect every detail was, and it was easy to see how hard Sara worked to make the dream a reality!
The morning of the wedding the winter air was crisp, but the sun was glowing behind thin clouds, there was a refreshing feeling of new beginnings in the air. As we unpacked our equipment, and looked onto the grand and timeless Otesaga resort, we were just so excited to get inside and see Sara and Josh. We were greeted inside by Sara, her mother and her beautiful bridesmaids as they were finishing up hair and makeup. We were introduced around and Tom and Christian made their way to see Josh and his groomsmen. I loved spending the morning with Sara, and in particular loved when she told me about the day Josh popped the question. Sara is a huge Monopoly fan, and always uses the dog piece, and during one special game, Josh was persistent that he wanted to use the dog piece, and instead she should use a new piece he had bought for her, as he pulled out her engagement ring *swoon*, I loved that story, and was so excited to hear that Sara had brought along the Monopoly board for their special day! When it was almost time for the first look, Sara and her girls took some time to really take in the excitement of the day and popped the champagne and even jumped on the bed! After everyone got their own turn to jump on the bed with Sara, it was time for her to put on her gown. This dress. Seriously, it is “dress goals!” Sara made a stunning bride in her custom made Modern Trousseau “Adore” gown from Lily Saratoga. Her gorgeous gown, along with her adorable Kate Spade shoes, and her bouquet of lush greenery and pops of white flowers made for a romantic bridal look!
We were so excited for Sara and Josh’s first look, because that meant we could start to explore the venue together and start shooting some portraits of this seriously beautiful couple! Tom and I are still trying to get over how in love we were with these photos, and are super excited about this blog! From the staircase to the glassed over Otsego Lake, the photo opportunities were endless.
Their ceremony took place in a ballroom on the opposite side of the room the reception was being held in. Garland and tall white lanterns led the way up the aisle where Josh stood waiting under a flower adorned arbor, lit up by the glow of surrounding lanterns. Sara’s father walked her down the aisle and as he joined their hands, you could see her face light up, it was finally time to marry her love! Their ceremony was sweet, personal and unique!
Sara and Josh’s reception was as equally as epic as the rest of the day! The entire ballroom was up-lit beautifully and glowing with lanterns and candles with greenery throughout. We loved the pinecone Mrs. and Mr. wedding cake and the adorable barrel gift table! But I think my personal favorite was the “kid’s table” that was loaded up with coloring books and stickers! Sara and Josh and their wedding party pulled out all the stops with their introductions, it was like something out of the vintage dating game show, Kenny “the promo guy” Morrison gave a little background on everyone before they came out ready to party- how fun is that?! When Sara and Josh got their grand entrance they were circled on the dance floor for their first dance, which began like normal but then all of a sudden started an amazing choreographed dance that took everyone by surprise, even the wedding party!!! The dinner was a delicious buffet with an assortment of everything you could think of, and the same goes for the dessert table, that was overflowing with different cookies and pastries. The entire rest of the night was non stop fun with dancing and even a limbo contest! What a way to start off our 2017 wedding season!
Sara and Josh- It was a pleasure to be a part of your special day! You guys are so sweet, we wish you so much love and happiness! Congratulations!
