“It’s like, in that moment the whole universe existed just to bring us together” – Serendipity
We first met Kayla and Jeff just over a year ago, when we spent a beautiful fall day with them exploring downtown Utica during their engagement session. We loved their adventurous spirits, and that they were willing to wander through alleyways, under bridges and climb rooftops with us to get some awesome photos! Plus with a couple as jaw dropping as Kayla and Jeff, it was a giveaway that these photos were all winners, (is it even possible for them to take a bad photo?!) Besides the fact that Kayla and Jeff are a stunning couple, they are absolute sweethearts as well, and we had been anticipating their wedding all year long!
When Kayla and Jeff’s big day was finally here we were beyond excited to see them again, (and because Kayla knocked it out of the park with her engagement session styling, I was super excited to finally see the dress and shoes she chose for her wedding)! I was blown away when I got to their house in the morning and saw the lineup of stunning bridesmaids dresses and Kayla’s beautiful ballgown hanging in the middle. I just knew that dress needed to be showcased with beautiful natural light and had the help of carrying out the giant gown from Kayla’s bridesmaids. They helped keep the fluff together through the house, out the door and right up to hanging it on a tree. The girls were so helpful and had me cracking up the whole time! Meanwhile Tom was with Jeff and his groomsmen while they were getting ready for the ceremony. Kayla and Jeff exchanged notes with each other in the morning and even with the groomsmen busting on him for writing “love notes”, Jeff was all smiles all morning.
The ceremony took place at Grace Church in Utica, and it was our first time ever being inside, and wow,is it stunning! The pews were full of family and friends all waiting, excited to see Kayla and Jeff! The hummer stretch limo brought the girls right up the front steps as they hurried inside to keep dry from the rain. Kayla stepped out to meet her father at the back of the church and hid behind the doors as the music played and the bridesmaids met Jeff and his groomsmen at the end of the aisle. When it was time for Kayla, she stepped inside the doors and took everyone’s breath away, glowing in her flowing beaded ball gown. It was such a beautiful ceremony, and we loved the emotions we captured between them as they pledged their lives together.
With drizzling rain we took the newlyweds and their bridal party to the train station, where we captured photos inside and even outside, risking the rain clouds above… Kayla and Jeff were still willing to do anything for a great shot! From there the limo took them to the reception at Valley View. The entire space was transformed beautifully with gorgeous white draping throughout the ballroom and white and pink floral centerpieces on top of crisp white tablecloths. We loved their huge white cake with the cutest pearl cake topper, and the sparkling gold sequin accents on the head table and throughout the room. A delicious dinner followed their first dance, speeches, and the rest of the night was filled with some super fun partying and awesome dance moves!
Congratulations Kayla and Jeff! Thank you for inviting us to be a part of your beautiful day! We wish you all the love and happiness!
