“Love is what makes two people sit in the middle of a bench when there is plenty of room at both ends”.
This blog is going to start a little backwards, but I feel like the best way to describe Mary and Craig would be to tell you about their reception. Okay, so picture this – The band “Last Left” is rocking out, then out of nowhere Craig takes control of the mic and starts belting out the music with all his heart, just COMPLETELY owning it! The guests go CRAZY and swarm toward the stage, Mary right up front singing and dancing along with him. The crowd was bouncing off the walls as they sang out Blink 182, taking us back to the early 2000’s. Tom and I were like, wait is this really happening?! All we could say was,THIS.IS.AWESOME! That is what we love so much about Mary and Craig, they are such an amazing couple , and their bubbly, spontaneous, adventurous, personalities made for a seriously fun day for us!
Now I’ll rewind back to the very beginning of the day. Mary and her bridesmaids started off the morning right by getting glammed up at the wonderful Tramacera’s Trends, the Salon that Mary owns. I loved that she had such a personal connection with the shop and I loved seeing the giant wall full of happy notes and wedding wishes from all of the workers! I felt instantly welcomed, everyone was SO sweet and I knew right from the start that I was going to love these ladies. Tom was with Craig and his groomsmen at Hotel Utica. In between getting ready they were watching a mind blowing game between Syracuse and Notre dame, and speaking of Syracuse, I have to mention Mary’s super adorable S.U. Garter ( part of her something blue!) I loved all of Mary’s mementos, and I loved that she took the time out of her very busy morning to show me them and share some special memories with me. Mary is such an absolute sweetheart and it is so easy to see why Craig loves her! The girls finished everything ahead of schedule and took time to sit and wait (which sometimes can be a little stressful before you have to walk down the aisle, ) but lucky for us we had comedic relief in the form of Yuppie, Mary and Craig’s fur baby, who seemed to love Mary’s dress as much as I did, walking right over and laying on it as soon as it was on!
The ceremony took place at Our Lady of Lourdes, a breathtaking church in Utica. Mary and Craig shared a beautiful ceremony that had me teary eyed, as we listened to Craig holding back tears as he recited their vows. There is nothing more sweet than that in my book, seriously, it still makes my heart happy. A bubble blown exit whisked the newlyweds off to their next stop, portrait session with us. Root Glenn at Hamilton college is a stunning place for pictures, and is where Craig proposed, so we were thrilled when they mentioned going there for photos! Tom and I even got to see the spot where it happened, and it was so sweet to hear their story! The reception was held at the beautiful Twin Ponds in Utica. The centerpieces were pretty blue bottles holding tall candlesticks and table numbers marked with puzzle pieces, matching the adorable puzzle pieces at the head table for Mary and Craig. The dinner was some of the best stuffed chicken I’ve ever tasted and the cake cutting…or should I say cake smash was the most epic by far! Now we’re back to the beginning, and the rest of the night was a party like none other, and as Craig would do…*Mic Drop*.
Mary and Craig, you guys are the coolest! Next time we go out for Karaoke you better be there!
Thank you SO much for inviting us to be a part of your day! We wish you all the love and happiness!
