“Love is life. And if you miss love, you miss life.” – Leo Buscaglia
Raise your hand if you love elegant venues, Great Gatsby styled glamour, and insanely cute dachshunds! I know I do, and was completely in heaven for Samantha and Veldin’s gorgeous Hotel Utica Wedding! This wedding was so unique, and felt like we were taking a step back into time with the vintage charm of the 20’s.
The morning of Samantha and Veldin’s wedding was almost unbelievable at how awesome it was. The first reason being that we had the shortest commute time ever, and it kept us from loading up the car…we just carried our bags next door. Second ,(and my personal favorite) reason being that we were greeted by Penny – undoubtedly one of the cutest little brown dachshunds you can imagine! Penny is the “fur child” of Sam and Veldin and was an absolute necessity to the day! We spent the morning bouncing back and forth between Sam and Veldin’s rooms where they were each putting on the final touches before the ceremony. Overall the mood was relaxed and even if Samantha and Veldin were nervous, they seemed as cool as cucumbers!
The ceremony was held in the lobby of the hotel, and if you have seen it, you know how absolutely breathtaking it is! More than half a dozen hanging crystal chandeliers tucked between giant marble pillars made for the perfect backdrop for Samantha and Veldin to exchange their “I do’s”! When the guests were seated. it was time for the bridesmaids to make their way down the aisle. Each girl was wearing different styled dresses all in shades of blush and a variety of fabrics. They were an absolutely beautiful group of girls to have by your side! They met Veldin and his guys at the end of the aisle where they stood waiting, looking sharp in their grey and black suits with matching blush bow ties. When it was time for Samantha to make her way down the aisle, it was like a scene from a movie! Samantha floated down the grand staircase, her intricate lace train trailing behind her as she walked arm in arm down the aisle with her father. Her two tiered veil paired perfectly with her art-deco dazzling headpiece and drop earrings. The ceremony was timeless and elegant, and the way Sam and Veldin looked at each other melted my heart! When they sealed their vows with a kiss, just one was not enough!
Their portrait session was so seamless and went perfectly, with a beautiful backdrop and a beautiful couple and wedding party, we did not want to stop our shutters from clicking! We walked all around downtown Utica, and captured all the sweet little moments between kisses and cuddles.
The reception was held in the ballroom and was so elegant! The centerpieces were all floral arrangements and the treat table was SO GOOD! Cakes, cookies, and cupcakes that looked like their puppy Penny! The party was going all night long with food, sweet speeches and traditional Bosnian music that everyone loved. There was even a huge “kolo” dance circle at the end of the night, everyone got involved!
What a beautiful day it was for a truly sweet couple. Congratulations Samantha and Veldin!
