“I look at you and I see the rest of my life in front of my eyes”- Unknown
If you are lucky enough to know Alexandra and David, you are lucky enough to know what an amazing couple they are. Their sense of humor, positive attitudes, and genuine love for each other is something to strive for. About a week before their wedding we got together with them for their engagement session, and we spent the day wandering around Clinton with them. They showed us their high school where they first met, some of their favorite places around the area and we talked about everything under the sun. There is something so special about “Al” and Dave that makes you feel like you are talking with old friends.
Their wedding was full of beauty and adventure. The entire day was spent at Vernon downs, a venue Tom and I love! While Dave and his guys were suiting up, Alex, her bridesmaids, and family were getting hair and makeup done by the very talented Stephanie of tease and makeup. When it came time for Al to put on her wedding dress, my jaw dropped! A mermaid gown, with beaded bodice and flowing train, she was certainly a stunning bride! Her bouquet of white and pink roses was one of the biggest we’ve ever seen, and was the perfect addition to her bridal look! Weather is always a big factor of weddings and all morning the sky was spouting out rain, and with heat in the high nineties it was easy to see that mother nature was giving them all she had as a wedding gift! After little to no deliberation the ceremony was set to be held outside on the terrace, Al was positive about her decision, and announced that she and Dave promised each other that even it it rained they would do it outside, they would just hold umbrella’s! Well, with the most perfect timing, the rain let up, the sun had dried up the rain and the sky was the most beautiful shade of blue. It turned out to be the perfect outdoor ceremony that Alex and Dave had wished for! After the ceremony Tom, and I along with the entire wedding party ran out the front doors, and hopped into Dave’s truck and raced over to the front of Vernon downs for the portrait session. This was by far the most intense moment of our wedding photography career as we risked getting the entire bridal party stuck in a storm. We took turns snapping away as the clouds rolled overhead, each one getting darker and darker as they came- the thunder rumbling. We took the last few photos and then jumped back into the truck, racing back to the reception space as the clouds followed close behind. We made it back with seconds to spare and stood in the lobby as rain started whizzing by sideways! Tom and I were both attainment on getting the best possible photos for Alex and Dave, and were SO lucky that they (and their entire bridal party) was all for it too! The reception was held in the ballroom, the tables had adorable photos of Alex and Dave together throughout their relationship and the centerpieces were overflowing with red and pink roses. Music by Kenny “the promo guy” was amazing as always. Throughout the night an awesome wedding gift “shot ski” was being passed around, vases turned into drinking glasses, and Dave surprised everyone with the funniest garter removal ever! We may have witnessed some of the craziest partying to date, it was an amazing day!
Alexandra and Dave, thank you so much for letting us be a part of your wedding day. We wish you all the happiness in your new adventure of marriage together!
