“Happiness is holding someone in your arms and knowing you hold the whole world.”- Orhan Pamuk
We cannot stop talking about this wedding! Everything was just so breathtakingly beautiful, the venue, the flowers, the food, and that dress! The weather was perfect too…the opposite of Kaitlin and Michael’s engagement session in the fall, where we battled with random patches of rain, sleet, and snow. Even during that, they stayed positive, laughing and smiling – a good representation of their future marriage. That’s another thing we just LOVED about Kaitlin and Michael’s wedding, the entire day they were all smiles, it was so easy to see just how much they love each other!
Kaitlin, her mom, and her bridesmaids began the day getting their hair and makeup done at Innovations Salon and Day Spa, which is a huge place with enough rooms to get lost in! Meanwhile, Michael and his guys were getting suited up at the Hampton Inn. The ceremony and reception took place at Timber Banks Country Club in Syracuse, a beautiful location and meaningful too – it’s a golf club that Michael is a proud member of. With rolling hills, wooded paths, and a luxurious tent, it made for a beautiful spot for a wedding! During the morning, Kaitlin and Michael exchanged letters to each other. It’s always a sweet moment to capture, and this time a little funny as Kaitlin exclaimed “he put photos in here! Was I supposed to put photos in my letter?” Mike was pulling out all the stops! When it came time for Kaitlin to put on her dress, I was just as giddy as the bridesmaids. When she stepped out in her gown, all jaws dropped. Kaitlin looked like a dream in her flowing white ball gown, cinched at the waist and adorned with flowers. She had everyone help her tie up her dress, one girl at a time. It was a sweet way of having all of the bridesmaids play a role in her getting ready photos. Just outside of where Kaitlin was getting ready, Michael was standing on a path in the woods, his back turned down the path, waiting patiently for his soon to be bride. A first look is always exciting for us, and this one was so heartwarming to watch as Kaitlin came up behind Mike. When he turned around they shared such a beautiful moment, smiling ear to ear.
The ceremony was held a couple of greens over from the reception tent, so all the guests got to cruise over in golf carts. The ceremony spot was a beautiful pavilion nestled right by the water. People on boats that passed by would give a big smile and wave as Michael waited while the guests filed into the chairs. When everyone was seated and ready, Kaitlin was brought over by a special golf cart with a canopy back to keep her hidden. Her father escorted her down the aisle as live music played. The ceremony was sweet and traditional , Kaitlin and Mike couldn’t take their eyes off each other. After they sealed their vows with a kiss, they walked down the aisle hand in hand as a bagpiper played behind them.
The reception space was decorated beautifully. All white linens and hanging drapery was accented with tall and short pink floral centerpieces. The introductions were all super fun, Mike pulled out all of the coolest football “touchdown” moves, everyone was going wild with cheers! The newlyweds were serenaded to during their first dance, before each shared a special dance with their parents. Dinner was a fantastic buffet by Carnegie Catering Company. The party was going wild with insane dance moves and some terrifying crazy flips! When Kaitlin and Michael were running to their limo, they were “sent off” surrounded by sparklers held by all of their guests. What an awesome day it was!
Congratulations Kaitlin and Michael! We are so thankful that you invited us to be a part of your wedding! We wish you all of the love and happiness!
