“Come one, come all, to the Blair Spectacular, where there will be tons of fun rain or shine!”
Tony and Katy are a unique and fun couple, and when it came to their wedding, it was just as unique and fun as they are! Picture this, a big barn decorated with vintage circus signs in vibrant colors, tables topped with cotton candy, fortune telling fish, a candy bar straight out of a dream, and (my personal favorite) a kissing booth! This circus themed wedding was such a fun time not only for the guests- but for us to photograph as well!
With patches of rain passing through all morning, the great debate was where to hold the ceremony. The benches outside dried up and the final call was made… outside it was! With dramatic clouds above, it made for a gorgeous backdrop! The entire ceremony space was beautifully decorated as well, wooden doors made for a grand entrance for Katy, as she walked down the aisle lined with spinning pinwheels. Katy was a beautiful bride in her handmade etsy gown and (adorable) birdcage veil. The sweetest thing was seeing how big Tony’s smile was as he watched her come down the aisle to meet him under a grand tree. Tony and Katy were married by the circus ringmaster of the day- a.k.a. Tony’s father (another special touch that really made the day unique and sweet!) They exchanged their vows with a flower girl at their heels, and even shared a sweet “Pixi stix” ceremony, in place of the traditional sand ceremony.
While the guests made their way to the barn we took Tony, Katy, and the bridal party around for photos. We just finished up with the bridal party when the rain hit, and boy did it hit fast. The girls took Katy’s dress and away they went, trying to outrun the oncoming downpour. We met everyone back inside, and took some more shots of the newlyweds inside the barn, where it was warm and dry. While a lot of couples would be disappointed with the weather, Tony and Katy both could not stop smiling at each other- their happiness was contagious! When the rain let up we took them back out, and took advantage of the stunning sky that the weather made!
The reception was as much fun as you can imagine! A full on feast was served for dinner; Marinated chicken, pulled pork, corn on the cob, pasta salad, mac salad, and mandarin orange salad. Guests enjoyed a variety of yummy unique flavored cupcakes after dinner, custom “face-in-hole” standee’s made by groomsman Tony Thompson, and they even got to hear some guitar and songs from the Ringmaster! It was a wedding for the books!
Thank you Tony and Katy for inviting us to be a part of your day! We were thrilled to celebrate and capture your day for you! Best wishes to you both!
