Maia and Cody’s Wedding

Maia and Cody’s day was SO full of emotions! It was the kind of wedding that made us take a step back and soak in all the happiness and love that was around. It was the kind of wedding that made you just want to hug everyone!

Maia and Cody spent their morning at the Water’s Edge Inn, right on the water. Just a few rooms away from each other, they were getting ready, along side of their bridal party, all sisters and brothers. The bridal suite had this calming feeling, where they even took time to paint each others nails on the porch. Maia was all smiles the whole morning (breaking out in little dances every now and then!) One of my favorite parts of the morning was when Maia and her mom helped each other put together the bouquets , Maia made Cody’s boutonniere for him, giving it more of a special meaning. I also loved their gift exchange. Maia got Cody a stunning watch, he was excited because he’s never had a watch before! Cody got Maia a beautiful bracelet that she had wanted, and she kept exclaiming how she didn’t know how he got it so fast, and how much she loved it.

The ceremony and reception were held at McCauley Mountain,where  the whole place was completely transformed! The ceremony was right on top of the hill overlooking the lodge, the aisle was lined with rose petals and led to the most beautiful white birch and flower arch and podium. Maia’s entrance was the most unique we have ever seen! The  placement of the guests and Cody made it so that Maia was slowly revealed the closer (and further up the hill) she came. While she made her way to Cody,  dragonflies and butterflies flew all around-  it was dramatic and grand! Cody’s reaction was absolutely adorable, it was the reaction that every bride dreams of! They chose to write their own vows, and you could hear sniffles all around as they promised their lives to each other. The first kiss caught everyone by surprise as he pulled Maia in and dipped her low- cheers erupted!!!

The reception space was decked out! Hanging lights, candles, with burlap and lace adorned the tables. There we saw photos of Maia and Cody all over. We loved being able to see some of the very first ones they had taken as a couple and see how much they have already grown together. They shared their first dance to “Thinkin out loud” by Ed Sheeran and knocked everyone’s socks off when they began a rehearsed dance that involved lifts and flips – and a full flip by Maia in her wedding gown!!! It was incredible, and unforgettable! The whole night was so fun, and with a couple like them, it was sure to be! The cake smash was one for the books as well- the beautiful chocolate covered strawberry cake covered their faces as they duked it out to have a better “smush”. Everyone spent time together celebrating the day by dancing, enjoying the cigar bar, and just talking on the deck. A beautiful sparkler send off was the perfect end to their perfect day.
