We are SO excited to share our first wedding of the season with you!
Tom and I have had such a fun “winter break”, but we always find ourselves looking forward to summer when we can get back to work! It’s the greatest feeling to wake up every weekend and be able to spend your day with two people who are promising their love to each other forever, and to be able to capture that day for them to look back on for the rest of their lives.
For our first wedding we had the honor of spending it with Elizabeth and Dustin. If you know them, you know how absolutely sweet they are! Liz and Dusty give off this contagious positive energy!
The start of the day we were welcomed in by the wedding party- a small close knit group of friends and family. The girls gathered together upstairs, each at their own mirror perfecting their makeup, passing around brushes, sharing sprays and anticipating the day. The guys were putting on the final touches, fixing each other’s ties and spent all their extra time rehearsing the ceremony. With hair and makeup finished the bridesmaids stepped into their dresses, long flowing navy blue gowns, all different styles. Liz’s girls remarked how happy they all were to be able to choose their own gowns, they told me that Liz was the most laid back bride, to which liz replied “Not about my flowers.” Liz had carefully chosen gorgeous bouquets and centerpieces of a variety of white blossoms. The final touch for the bridesmaids was a gift from Liz, a beautiful twisted rose gold bangle. Then it was time for one of my favorite parts of the day- the dress! ( It’s amazing seeing the transition from woman to bride.) Elizabeth was a vision in her lace and bead embellished fit and flare gown with buttons down the back. The ceremony was just around the corner and everyone was filing into their nice air conditioned car, when Liz made a genius decision (in my opinion) to wear flip flops! Just another reason why I love them – they are so real!
The ceremony was held at St. Peter’s in Rome. We have never seen so many smiles before, EVERYONE was beaming watching Elizabeth and Dustin pledge their lives to each other! It made it so easy to catch candids. Tom caught some of the happiest faces to date! With such a cheerful crowd we took a massive group photo right outside the doors of the church. Then we took the rest of the bridal party away for photos at Vogel Park and met them in front Vernon Downs, where their reception was held.
The reception hall was timeless and elegant, with rose gold table runners, and the all white centerpieces throughout. Dinner was enjoyed with background music from a bagpiper! How cool is that? The night was non-stop fun, Everyone was on the dance floor, awesome music, and even an ice cream bar!
