We could not have wished for a better way to end our wedding season than with Liz and Matt! The entire day was filled with so many moments that reminded us of how much we love shooting weddings, (and how much we will miss them until spring!)
As soon as I arrived there was such a positive vibe from everyone! I was welcomed in to a full house of beautiful bridesmaids, family, a makeup artist and hair stylist. All the ladies were working on getting ready as a playlist of songs looped in the background. Bridesmaids gathered around the island sharing laughs and snacking on the bottomless assortment of fruits, veggies, and sandwiches. As soon as Liz was finished with hair and makeup she met her mom and sister, Katie, upstairs to get the dress on. They gathered in Liz’s childhood bedroom, and Katie whispered to me that the now bare walls used to be covered in John Mayer posters. Once the dress was on and all the jewelry was clasped, Liz decided to do one of the cutest reveals ever! Her bridesmaids and her father gathered at the bottom of the stairs and as Liz turned the corner, all jaws dropped! She looked absolutely stunning, her gorgeous shawl and striking bouquet of white roses and berries were a beautiful final touch!
Tom was hanging out with Matt and his guys in the morning. While the guys were getting ready rolling on their “Rainbow” socks, they were talking to Matt about how they were all so nervous for their own wedding, and Matt completely agreed. Matt and Liz exchanged letters to be opened the morning of the wedding- a sweet idea- and to see their reactions was so special, you could see that they were both so excited!
The ceremony took place at the gorgeous St Peter’s in Rome. It was decorated beautifully with flowers wrapped around the rows of seats. As the guests began to arrive, you could feel the anticipation. Once the church was filled and the music began, all the bridesmaids made their way down the aisle. As Liz and her father walked to the doors, they were both all smiles, and once they began walking to Matt you could see that he was too! It was a beautiful ceremony, and Liz and Matt were glowing the entire time!
After the ceremony, we hurried outside for pictures. It was chilly, but the whole bridal party was willing to get a little cold to get the best shots, how awesome are they?! We stopped at the Rome train station for some photos as well. It was nice and warm for the bridal party and a new, unique location for us!
From there we traveled to Vernon Downs, where we danced all night with music by Kenny the Promo Guy and enjoyed a delicious buffet dinner! The centerpieces were too cute- books stacked with a candle on top. The thing that Tom and I could not get over was the Rainbow candy bar. There was every kind of candy for any kind of sweet tooth in red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple, an adorable play on the couple’s last name! The night was an unforgettable one, spent with a wonderful group of people!
Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Matthew Rainbow, and thank you for letting us be a part of your special day!
