One decade, one year, and one day. That is the time between Cassie and Kevin’s first date to their wedding day. This sweet couple met back in school and are still as deeply in love with each other eleven years later. Kevin and Cassie individually are amazing people, but as a couple they are an unstoppable force of kindness, humor, and joy.
It was a perfect day for their Saturday wedding. Cassie was at her parent’s home in Clinton getting dressed with her very sweet group of bridesmaids, and Kevin was at his parent’s home suiting up with his best buddies. As soon as we arrived, we knew this was going to be a fun day! The wedding party was kind and welcoming, and just as excited for this day as the couple was. Before leaving for the ceremony, the couple made sure to place a ladybug pin in their flowers- Kevin’s boutonniere , and Cassie’s bouquet-(handmaid and grown by her), a beautiful tribute for Kevin’s late family member.
When we arrived at the beautiful St. Mary’s Church in Clinton, the guys quickly marched in. Kevin and his best man took turns peaking out the door watching the church fill with loved ones. A few short minutes later, Cassie pulls up, the church doors are closed and she slips away into the stairwell. Nervous and excited, she giggles and whispers to her bridesmaids, asking how handsome Kevin looks. The music changes, that’s the cue. Cassie takes her father’s hand and follows him to the door, giving his hand a few squeezes then laying her head on his shoulder. The door opens and smiles spread across everyone’s faces- Kevin’s smile being the biggest. The ceremony is beautiful and classic , with some humor thrown in by the father.
From the Church we take the couple back to the village for their portrait session. After a few pictures, the party is working up an appetite, and we take a short break for a few beers and some pizza at their favorite bar, Alteris! What a blast we all had, and an amazing idea for food to hold them over until dinner!
The wedding party arrives at MKJ farm, for the reception. The barn is filled- just as the church was. The decorations were antique, and rustic. From the wildflower filled mason jar centerpieces to the suitcase card box, everything was adorable and suited the gorgeous venue perfectly. The food was amazing, dinner was set up in stations, including mac n’ cheese and steak or chicken shish kabobs. The party went all night even with some bar top dancing!
Thank you Cassie and Kevin for letting us be a part of your special day! Congratulations!
