Carly and Brian’s love story is so beautiful, and so was their wedding. The whole day was full of amazing moments, one of our favorites was learning how Carly and Brian met. The carbon monoxide alarm at Carly’s family home kept going off and Carly’s dad decided it would be a good idea to call the fire department to check it out. It just so happened, that Brian, was one of the firefighters on the scene. They locked eyes and exchanged phone numbers. About two years later, Brian knew exactly how he wanted to pop the question. He gathered together his own and Carly’s family to help with the proposal. He had a carbon monoxide alarm set up to continuously go off. Carly’s father called the fire department– then Brian pulled up in the fire engine just like the first day they met. He got down on his knee and asked for her hand in marriage and she said yes! While we listened to the wedding toasts telling the story, the couple was absolutely glowing. It was clear to see that they were deeply in love.
It was a gorgeous sunny day for their wedding. When we arrived at The Otesaga Resort Hotel the girls were in the bridal suite finishing hair and makeup and the guys were downstairs cracking jokes and telling stories. When it was time to put the dress on all the girls were excited! When Carly walked out of the room there were smiles on everyone’s faces, she was breathtaking. Then there was a knock on the door– it was a gift for Carly delivered by a groomsman, from Brian. He wrote a sweet letter and a gave her a pair of beautiful pearl earrings, (the ones she was admiring while they were shopping before.) The finishing touch was a headpiece– the same one her mother wore when she walked down the aisle.
We followed the limo over to St. Mary’s church in Cooperstown. It was filled with family and friends, there was not an empty seat in the building. It was a sweet ceremony and the couple could not stop smiling at each other.
From there we took a trolley to The Farmer’s Museum to take a ride on the carousel, the whole bridal party was having a blast.
It was cocktail hour outside on the large deck when we arrived back at The Otesaga Hotel. The view was gorgeous, you could not have asked for a more perfect day. The rest of the night was a dream! It was elegant, but playful, just like the couple. There was an amazing live band, delicious food, and lots of laughs.
Thank you for letting us be a part of your day!
Congratulations Carly and Brian!
